Turkey Tail is a polypore mushroom, which can be found growing naturally on decaying stumps, fallen logs and dying trees in temperate forests all over the world.
Turkey Tail mushrooms contain a high percentage of beneficial Beta-D-Glucans, the compound responsible for the immune boosting properties. They also contain a compound called polysaccharide-K (PSK) and Polysaccharopeptide (PSP) that boost the immune system. Turkey tail has been shown to help mitigate the effects of chemotherapy by regenerating the damaged immune cells and stimulating the immune system in general to fight infections.
Turkey tail mushroom is consumed or taken as a supplement.
